Although the qualifications I’ve earned over the last 12 years cover a massive variety of fitness subjects, my passion is in getting people in to the best shape of their lives and looking/feeling aesthetic. My speciality is in Physique/Fitness Modelling contest preparation where small details that are ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to success are often missed in my experiences of watching contests. As part of my coaching I also help to ensure that these mistakes don’t happen! (I.E. Correct posing, attire, tan and other fine details)
That said, my qualifications and experiences actually enable me to train a very broad spectrum of people. I’ve been an exercise + nutrition leader on the MEND program for kids from the age of 8 years old, all the way up to being the exercise leader for a cardiac rehabilitation program for the National Health Service – This consisted of both genders up to ages of 80+ years old with various illnesses as well as Cardiac.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”Why Would I Want/Need Coaching?” variation=”red”]
The biggest benefit that I personally experienced from coaching, and something that I want to pass on to my clients, was the education from somebody more experienced than I was. Coaching for me was more educational in the 9 months of my contest season, than the 12 years worth of qualifications I earned as a personal trainer. With my coaching, I plan to educate and eventually make you self-sufficient at understanding your body and what works. My coaching teaches you to “fish” so that you can live a better lifestyle forever rather than be reliant on me as your coach in the long-term.
Most people never really consider a coach for a number of reasons – Maybe they feel like they know what they’re doing already, they may feel too prideful to get outside help amongst a whole heap of individual reasons. I was the same until I decided to leave my ego at the door and hire my coach for my 2013 contest season. This ended up being one of the best professional and social years of my life, literally coming from nowhere to win a Pro Card with the WBFF and making my professional debut at the first ever World Championships in Las Vegas. It was also the year I saw the most growth physically, educationally and generally accross the board in my life.
There are, of course, the more obvious benefits such as having me there to hold you accountable for your goal, the 24/7 support that I will provide via email and the custom program based on science (instead of crap that the “buff,ripped” dude told me at the gym), your body type, metabolism and experience that I will create for you.[/toggle]

This is not a dictatorship – I will work with you to ensure that you are not only getting in shape, but also that you are still enjoying your life while doing so. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN get in shape and fit it around your lifestyle. Obviously changes will probably need to be made to most lifestyles, but we will not be doing anything unneccessary for our results.
If there is something you don’t like in your program, I will listen and work with you to come to a compromise within reason. [toggle title=”Why Will You Only Train ‘Natural’ Athletes?” variation=”red”]
Two reasons – The first is because I have been on both sides of the fence and experienced both. Having been a natural athlete for 10 years, it’s a value I feel very strongly about and hold dear to my heart. Especially if you are in contest prep – I feel that you will be put in a position where you will inspire a LOT of people. Those people should know how you came to achieve the body that they are so inspired by – Will you tell them you took steroids/drugs? Most would/do not and I can’t train somebody knowing that. It’s not me passing judgement – Just something that I hold true to myself and feel strongly about.
The second reason is simply because there are probably better coaches for you out there. The coaching I provide will be of the assumption that you are natural so even if somebody lied to me, my coaching wouldn’t be optimal for your modified hormone levels, faster recovery, increased protein synthesis etc. There are plenty of good coaches for you out there. [toggle title=”What Do You Mean by a ‘Natural’ Athlete?” variation=”red”]
Good question – This is obviously a grey area that means different things to different people. If you are in contest preparation then I will not train anybody who is using anything or planning to use anything on the “banned” substance list for your competition (EVEN if the contest is untested, like many “natural” fitness/physique modelling shows unfortunately are).
For someone who wants normal coaching – You will not be using anything to alter your hormones or genetics (Steroids/GH/Prohormones/Hormone altering fat burners) or anything pharmaceutical. Again, if you want to use steroids or Growth Hormones/Peptides, then please find a different coach.[/toggle]

Yes, absolutely – But I would probably recommend that you find coaches that specialise in Bodybuilding because although I’ve had some practice with bodybuilding posing, there are coaches who specialise in this area and have tons of competitions under their belt. Posing is an extremely important part of Bodybuilding, Physique and Fitness Modelling – My expertise is in Physique/Fitness.

Probably not what you’re expecting – I don’t TELL you what to eat and I will not be sending you a “Diet plan” (Have you EVER stuck to a “diet plan” where somebody told you exactly what to eat at each meal?) – What you will receive via an excel spreadsheet are your customised macronutrient requirements (protein, carbs,fats, fiber per day) for your goal based on your activity levels, gender, age, bodyfat and a number of other factors. This plan will also be customised around YOUR lifestyle.
Once you have this information, there are NO FOOD RESTRICTIONS (unless you are intolerant to a particular food group. Remember I told you to keep an open mind) as long as you hit your daily macronutrient/micronutrient targets.
I will also provide you :-
– Simple instructions on how to progress through plateau’s when your fat loss/muscle gain stops or stalls.
– Tips on how to integrate your diet into your lifestyle (This is KEY to maintaining your sanity and seeing results!)

17 Year Old Valera Dropped 33lbs of Fat, Got Stronger AND Did it While Enjoying the Foods He Loves, THEN turned Pro as a Junior Fitness Model by Age 19!
Initially I started weight training in December 2012 and followed a ‘eat BIG get BIG’ diet which quickly added a load of strength and size in my bench, squat and deadlift. After 13 months of continuous lifting, eating and resting, I thought I had made HUGE progress. I was now 185lbs, benching 225lbs X8, deadlifting 315 x6 and feeling strong. I was EXTREMELY happy, until one day I bumped into a friend from the past. We chatted for a while about training, school etc. Everything was cool and I felt confident about my progress until he said “atleast you have mass, you fat b*****d” as a semi-serious joke.
After the conversation I was very confused, so I decided to measure my waist- which measured at 34.5″ and at 16 years of age, I thought perhaps I am pretty fat. That day, I began a ‘body recomposition’ which at that time I knew as a ‘cutting phase’. At first I started a ‘broscience eat clean train dirty’ method which at the time involved almost no carbs, 30 minutes cardio per session etc. However, around 8 weeks in I discovered that my strength had plummeted, I was looking skinny-fat and felt miserable.
